The email states verbatim “This is very disappointing, especially for a company that claims to be a Christian-Based company”. (A shipping error/swapped boxes – its all cleared up) But here is my question to you. What does it mean to you to be a Christian? Thank goodness we have grace and mercy and we are forgiven. Do you strive to be a better person daily? It’s like a bridge you are crossing the day that you take Jesus into your heart and become a believer. When you are saved you will start crossing the bridge, Onward Christian soldiers as the song goes. You keep moving forward in reading your Bible, gaining a closer relationship with God. Maybe you Bible Journal or do Bible studies. It is less about what church your worshipping in and more about your own personal relationship with Him. I was raised Southern Baptist, but I have been to the Cowboy Church, Connect Church and non-denominational churches. Its about the Bible. Preaching from the Bible, learning the Word.
To be a Christian is to be selfless and serve others. To do the right thing when it might not be the easiest thing to do. There are times that I say ‘Lord, put your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth”. We strive every day to do better, and we fall, we fail and we get back up the next day and strive again to be more Christ-like. You will have opportunities to ‘show others’ that you are a Christian. Showing is what is important. Being a Christian means living your Life in a way that people will know you have the love of the Lord in your heart, to show everyone you are. Your behavior will reflect your love for Jesus. To be a Christian you commit to follow him and his teachings. You trust Jesus for your eternal salvation. You believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. (John 10:30 Jesus himself said “I and the Father are one”. If you are wondering what you need to do to have salvation, its as simple as trusting in Christ alone for your salvation. Seek to follow him as your Lord and Savior. Commit your Life to Christ. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Jesus was sent to this world for a purpose and that purpose was to save us from our sins. When we commit our lives to Christ God forgives us. Isn’t it grand, how much God loves us and gives us mercy and grace? To be a Christian is to be Christ-like. To strive to be more like him. Forgive others, love thy neighbor, put others first before yourself. I certainly hoped through the monthly brochures that I am sharing real life as a confessed Christian. With that said, I will accidently swap labels and ship the wrong person the wrong package. I will also always achieve to make it right. I refund when you didn’t mean to renew, I send a new box and ask you to pass that one along to a friend (because I figure, it just means we shared a Christian story with one more person) I will continue to strive as we all do to build a closer relationship with our Lord. On those unfortunate days that I don’t bite my tongue soon enough I will pray for a second chance to do better.
Romans 12:17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to what is honorable in the sight of all. Ephesians 2:8 For by Grace you are saved, and not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God
